R.T. Fisher Educational Enterprises is the product of passion: passion for learning, passion for teaching, and passion for the positive impact that committed, well-prepared educators can make on the futures of young people, and thus, on our society itself.
Robyn T. Fisher has that passion, and she has assembled a team of professional staff, Educational Associates and Educational Consultants that share her belief that all children can learn -- if we care enough about them to prepare ourselves to meet them where they are and help them get to where we know that they can go.
Robyn began her career with the California State Senate as a Senate Fellow assigned to the Budget and Fiscal Review Committee. She brought that experience to the City of San Jose, working first in the mayor's office, and ultimately as the City's first African American woman budget analyst.
Her career in education began at San Jose State University where she developed and managed programs designed to increase the college-going culture in local high schools, including the California Student Opportunity and Access Program (Cal-SOAP), the California Academic Learning Excellence Program (CAL-E), the Parent Education Program (PEP) and the Collaborative Training Institute (CTI). Her ties to Sacramento enhanced these programs as she worked closely with the California Student Aid Commission and the California Postsecondary Education Commission.
In 1999, Robyn founded R.T. Fisher Educational Enterprises, an educational and public outreach consulting firm with a mission to design and implement programs that enhance student learning and success from preschool through college. She has consulted statewide and nationally with Upward Bound, the Ronald McNair Scholars Program, the College Board, 21st Century Learning Centers, as well as with both the University of California and California State University systems.
Monique August, MSW is our Director or Research and Program Development. Monique oversees all RTF research initiatives and most of our program development projects. Cathy Osborn, M.Ed is our Educational Specialist and Advisor. Cathy is a long-time classroom teacher and administrator who has taught at elementary, middle school, and even college levels. Ms. Osborn leads our team of Educational Associates and Consultants with an eye to matching the specific talents of our team members to the special program needs of our clients. Cathy has special gifts in developing tactics for reaching students, designing effective implementation strategies, and training other educators to enhance their teaching to maximize student success.
The R.T. Fisher team is rounded out by a core team of Educational Associates and Consultants that bring a wealth of experience and talent to our clients and their projects. We understand that no two situations are the same, and our primary strength comes from gaining an understanding of the challenges and objectives of our clients, developing custom strategies that fit within client resources, and assembling the right individuals from our team to implement those strategies.
